General Conference & Easter: A Very Special Weekend
This weekend is extra special! We get to celebrate two wonderful things at the same time: Easter and General Conference.
Easter is when we remember that Jesus Christ rose from the dead. After Jesus died on the cross, His friends were very sad. Some women went to visit His tomb early on Sunday morning. But when they got there, the big stone had been rolled away! An angel told them: "He is not here. He is risen!"
Jesus was alive again! He had been resurrected. And because Jesus rose from the dead, everyone who has ever lived will live again too. That is the most amazing gift ever given.
General Conference is when the prophet and other Church leaders talk to us. They help us know what Heavenly Father and Jesus want us to do. The prophet speaks for Jesus, just like prophets always have. When we listen to the prophet, we are hearing what the Savior wants to tell us.
So this weekend, we get to celebrate that Jesus is alive and hear from His prophet. Pretty amazing, right?
Activity
Before Conference starts, write down one question you want to listen for an answer to. It could be something like: "How can I be a better friend?" or "How does Jesus help me when I am scared?" Listen carefully during the talks and see if you hear an answer!
