Who Am I That I Should Go?
๐ Exodus 1-6
Moses and the Burning Bush
Have you ever been asked to do something scary and said, "I can't do that, I'm not good enough"?
Moses said that too. And God had the best answer.
The Story
A long time ago, God's people (the Israelites) were stuck in Egypt as slaves. They had to work really, really hard every day and they weren't free. They needed help.
God had a plan. He was going to send someone to rescue them.
He picked Moses.
Moses was out in the desert, taking care of some sheep, when he saw something strange: a bush was on fire! But it wasn't burning up. The fire just kept going and the bush stayed green.
Moses walked over to look.
Then God spoke from the bush! He said, "Moses, I need you to go tell Pharaoh to let my people go free."
Moses was NOT sure about this. He said, "But I'm not the right person! I'm not important enough! I don't even talk very well!"
God said, "Don't worry. I will be with you. I will tell you what to say."
Moses said, "But what if nobody believes me?"
God said, "I'll give you some amazing signs to show them."
Moses said, "But... could you please just send someone else?"
That last one made God a little frustrated. But He still didn't give up on Moses. Instead, He said, "Okay, your brother Aaron will come with you. But YOU are still going."
So Moses went.
What We Learn
God doesn't only pick the bravest, most confident people for important jobs. Sometimes He picks regular people who say "I'm scared" and "I'm not sure I can do this."
What matters is that they say YES and try.
You might not feel ready for hard things either. That's okay. God can help you the same way He helped Moses.
