Genesis 42-50: Joseph Forgave His Brothers

Have you ever been really mad at someone in your family?

Joseph had a very good reason to be angry at his brothers. But what he did next is one of the most amazing stories in the whole Bible.

What Happened?

Remember Joseph? His brothers sold him to strangers and told their dad he was dead.

But God watched over Joseph, and years later, Joseph became a very important leader in Egypt. He helped save food so people wouldn't go hungry.

Then one day, his brothers came to Egypt because they were hungry. They didn't recognize Joseph! But Joseph knew exactly who they were.

Joseph Chose to Forgive

Joseph could have punished his brothers. But instead, he started crying because he was so happy to see them. He said God had used the whole experience to save many people from starving. Then he hugged them.

Forgiving someone is really hard. But Joseph shows us that when we forgive, we feel better too. Heavenly Father wants us to forgive others, just like He forgives us.

What would YOU do? If someone was mean to you and then said sorry, could you forgive them?
